Lindsey Schwartz Terry

LSW, E-RYT, Certified Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner

I know what it feels like to live with chronic pain. Supporting individuals navigating chronic pain, chronic illness, and related anxiety is my professional North Star.

I understand the frustration of feeling limited, the anxiety about what lies ahead, the guilt of depending on your loved ones, the shame that comes with comparison, and the depression that accompanies flareups. I’ve been there.

Combining 20 years specializing in movement therapy for scoliosis and chronic pain with my education as a mental health professional, I support a holistic, mind-body approach to care. I work with you to develop a unique treatment plan, which may include counseling, movement, guided meditation and relaxation techniques. I approach treatment by evaluating the whole person and their environment, integrating Mindfulness Practice, Somatic Therapy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients regulate their nervous system, reconnect with their bodies, and cultivate a greater sense of safety and ease.

My experience supporting individuals through cancer diagnoses, chronic pain, and medical trauma in both hospital and private practice settings has reinforced my commitment to creating a practice that integrates therapy and movement, focusing on whole person healing. In addition to my Masters in Social Work, I also hold yoga and Scolio-Pilates® certifications.

Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is rarely just physical. It lives in the nervous system, shapes how we move, and quietly influences how we think, feel, and relate to the world around us.

Whether you are navigating persistent injury, autoimmune illness, or pain that has simply never had a clear explanation, you can feel safe in your body again.

My approach blends somatic therapy, integrative counseling, and mindful movement to help your body shift out of survival mode and into healing.

Rather than chasing symptoms, this work gets to the root: releasing stored tension, improving alignment, rewiring pain patterns in the nervous system, and rebuilding a trusting relationship with your body.

Chronic Illness

Chronic illness asks you to grieve the life you had while still showing up for the one you are living and that is an enormous burden to carry. You may feel like you’re living in a body that is unpredictable or out of your control.

Whether you are navigating the fear and uncertainty of a new diagnosis, or living with ongoing chronic illness, the emotional weight can be just as heavy as the physical symptoms.

I work with clients to address both, using somatic therapy and integrative counseling to help regulate the nervous system, process the grief and identity shifts that illness can bring, and find a new relationship with your body built on acceptance rather than frustration. I meet you where you are and help you to move forward in alignment with your values.

Anxiety

Anxiety is your nervous system working overtime to keep you safe, often in ways that no longer serve you. It can show up as racing thoughts, physical tension, a looming sense of dread, or the exhaustion of never quite being able to relax.

I help you understand anxiety from the inside out, using somatic therapy and mindful movement to help the body learn that it is safe to relax.

Rather than just managing symptoms, this work creates real capacity for calm by helping you recognize your patterns, regulate your responses, and move through the world with greater ease.

Whether your anxiety feels tied to your health, your relationships, or nothing you can quite name, we will work together to quiet the mind and relax as it is.
